Who we are
Battalion Advanced Technology Ltd (company no. 17234723) of Eccleston Yards, Eccleston Place, London SW1W 9NF is the controller of personal data collected through this website.
What we collect and why
When you use the contact form we collect your name, email address, organisation (optional) and the content of your message, so that we can respond to your enquiry. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries made to us. If you sign up for updates, we collect your name and email address on the basis of your consent, which you can withdraw at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email. Both forms are checked by Cloudflare Turnstile to block automated submissions; Turnstile may process your IP address and browser characteristics for that purpose.
Who processes it
This website is hosted by Cloudflare. Contact form submissions are relayed to us by a form-delivery service and delivered by email. Mailing-list sign-ups are stored by Mailchimp (Intuit Inc.), our mailing platform, together with a record of your consent, the time of sign-up and the IP address it came from. Each acts as our processor under contract. Some of these providers process data in the United States under appropriate safeguards.
Retention
Enquiries are kept for as long as needed to deal with them and for a reasonable period afterwards, normally no more than 24 months. Mailing-list data is kept until you unsubscribe.
Cookies, analytics and advertising tags
Fonts and all other assets are served from our own hosting, and the site sets no cookies of its own. The only third-party resource that loads without asking is the Cloudflare Turnstile check on the contact and mailing-list forms. When you first visit we ask whether you will allow four optional tags: Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Ltd), which tells us how the site is used — pages viewed, how visitors arrive, device and country at an aggregate level; and three advertising tags, the Meta pixel (Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd, covering Facebook and Instagram), the X pixel (X Corp.) and the LinkedIn Insight Tag (LinkedIn Ireland Unlimited Company). Nothing loads and no analytics or tracking cookie is set unless you choose Accept.
If you accept, each tag sets cookies in your browser and sends that provider your IP address (Google Analytics discards it after deriving a coarse location), the pages you view here and, for the advertising tags, an identifier that may be matched to your account on that platform. We use this to see how people reach and use the site and to show Battalion news to people who have visited it. Each provider also processes this data under its own terms; their notices are at Google, Meta, X and LinkedIn. Our lawful basis is your consent.
Your choice is stored in your browser for 12 months, after which we ask again. You can change it at any time using the Cookies link in the footer of every page; a new choice applies from the next page you load. Cookies already set can be removed through your browser settings.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct or erase your personal data, to object to or restrict its processing, and to data portability. To exercise these rights, or to raise a concern, contact us using the details on the contact page. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
